How I Balanced Working and Studying full time

Trying to balance two separate lives can be stressful. Hence why I experienced my first ever anxiety attack when I accepted my first job. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished so far but let me tell you all that thriving at both required a great deal of time management as well as mental preparation.

If you’re struggling to find a balance right now, that’s fine. Just know that when you begin on a new journey, your brain creates a mental barrier around it because it is likely to turn some of your patterns upside down.

So if you’re in a similar journey, I’ve got you covered with 3 effective stress-relieving tips!

  1. Communication: Communication is the key to many things in life. From having a healthy relationship with your partner, family members, co-workers, classmates, etc. In my case, it was crucial to inform my professors and company managers. I kept everyone informed when I required any special study time, if I’d be arriving early or late to make up for time off, or if there would be any potential work schedule disruptions.
  2. Organization: Planning ahead, scheduling, and making to-do lists If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that I start my day with a cup of coffee in one hand and a planner in the other in order to stay on top of my priorities. It may appear simple, but time management is critical to living a healthy life. Prioritizing everything and then scheduling it all in a diary or calendar is the key to mastering your time management.
  3. Strategize studying: I’m all about “studying smarter, not harder,” especially when it comes to revising for exams. In other words, I’ve tried new methods, such as flash cards, to boost my active recall. You can learn more about new studying methods on YouTube, where you’ll find a bunch! Don’t just read what you were given by your professors.

To sum up, dealing with your professional and academic life can be difficult at many levels. Effective communication with your managers, strategic planning, and organization are the keys to stress free life.
